Happy 4th!

We had a great 4th this year!
Because it was on a weekend, Kirk was able to take a day off and enjoy it with us. We celebrated all weekend.

On Satruday, after Kirk slept for a little bit (he had to work Friday night), we got "suited up" and headed out to Sandy City's celebration.
We knew that buying a few tickets for the bouncy houses would not be enough for this girl so we bought her an unlimited pass.  Boy are we glad we did!  She could not get enough.  She would come down one slide and run around to climb up the next one as fast as she could.

This was such a tall slide, Kirk thought for sure he would have to go and get her once she got to the top.

It ended up being her favorite one

So sleepy....he fell asleep during the parade amongst all the noise

On Sunday we went to a family bar-b-que, with lots of good food and conversation as usual.  I made this "flag" cake.  I forgot to take a picture of my actual cake because I was in such a hurry to finish it and get to the party on time.  Kirk actually left without me and took Liv so they would be on time.  I hurried and finished the cake, loaded it and Dax in the car, and then proceeded to cruise to the party which resulted in getting my FIRST speeding ticket EVER. Whoops!  Definitely not the highlitght of the weekend, but the cake was a hit!

On Monday, Grandma and Grandpa Newbold had us over for breakfast and a little slip-n-slide

Uncle Josh was a good sport; helping the grandkids (Carter and Liv) figure it out

Liv wasn't so sure about sliding down and landing with her face in the water, so she chose this option instead

That night after Dad got home from work, we did a few fireworks of our own

Liv was too excited (and tired) to wait until it was dark.
No big deal, she loved them!
