House Update

We are coming along...here are a few pics taken with Kirk's phone because I keep forgetting my camera :)

Our bathrooms, the first one is Livvy's and the second one is the Master. Kirk has since finished both of them, grout and all. Don't they look awesome!? My sister Linsey and I cleaned them up yesterday and taped them off so I could start painting tomorrow!

Our Moldings and trim....almost done. Now for all the nail holes :)

Our kitchen, now looks more like a kitchen! My brother-in-law, Jerome, came and helped Kirk put in the cabinets. They look awesome! The only thing left is to put up the crown molding on them and of course put the drawers in and doors on.

I spent about 15 hours this week pulling carpet staples out of our wood floor to get it ready to sand and finish. My brother-in-law Russell helped pound the rest of the "staple remainders" down yesterday! Ya....I keep thinking to myself that this dang wood floor better be worth it. Kirk keeps reminding me that we could just cover it with carpet....what!? I finally get REAL wood floor. Are you kidding me!?

I should be able to get the painting started in the bathrooms this week and the rest of the house "cleaned" and ready to paint (Kirk will spray the rest).

We are close.....so close!!!!

Although Kirk informed me a couple of days ago that he probably wouldn't be at the house for the next 2 weeks because he has 5 exams and two projects due. School vs. house? Hmmm.....I know which one should come first but....

Patience is quickly becoming my middle name!

It's OK

I just finished reading the heart-wrentching story: http://themcclenahans.blogspot.com/

I bawled, I knew I would.

Livvy sat on my lap the whole time, worried why I was crying and worried about the baby on the screen who looked so sad. I just kept squeezing her, so thankful that she was still on my lap to squeeze.

So today I am hugging, kissing, snuggling and spoiling this little one a little more.

And its OK. Ok that she woke up in the early hours of the morning from a nightmare and I had to hold her while she slept until it was time to wake. Its ok that she's already made a royal mess of the house I just cleaned and that she has been a little whiny today from lack of sleep.

ITS OK!

Just perfect actually.

Excuse me while I go and dance with her....she is asking for me to turn on the music.

Scentsy Cruise

My "Scentsy" Cruise was fabulous. I met new friends, enjoyed the sights, and mostly enjoyed the SUNSHINE. I could not get enough of it!! (and neither could my legs, they could have used more actually!)

Catalina

We rented bikes in Catalina and rode around the island, it was so fun! The temperature was perfect. I was a little sore the next day, apparently one uses different muscles to ride a bike than they do to run :)

Case Closed

"Mis, you really should be banned from waxing your own eyebrows," said my sister Carlye after I told her about my newest waxing catastrophe.

"But I really hate paying someone to do something I can do myself," I countered.

"Mis, seriously".....she said, and then stopped there. While all the while, with the look on her face, I knew what she was thinking to finish that sentence, "have you seen your eyebrows?"

In our family, we take Carlye's fashion advice seriously.

Case closed.

****Next time you see me, please don't look too close :)

And the final update.....

Livvy's first haircut.....was long overdo, but mom could not part with her hair, since we finally have hair, and so.....it took us awhile, and even still, it was just a trim to even it up :)

Livvy thought it was great at first

She even made faces with dad

And then mom had to try her hand at entertaining

And then we had to hold for the finishing touches

Day out with Andrew and Tiff:
We went with Kirk's brother and his wife on a tour of Sweet's Candy Factory while they were here in Utah visiting. Fun idea!

Livvy loved the giraffe they gave her

And the ride on the BUS

We spent New Year's at dinner with my family and then fun and games with some of our great friends! We put the kids down and had a blast ringing in the new year with a little bubbly and a kiss!

And FINALLY, we said goodbye to our trusty Civic. This was one of our first major purchases together 2 days before we were married. Of course I shed a tear or two, and Kirk, well, he said "good riddance"! Typical! (of us both)

We are currently sharing one car....yes, that's right! We did it our first 2 years of marriage and thought that doing it again would be no problem, wow!
We were wrong, its harder now, life is much more complicated. Luckily Kirk has the scooter and his jeep that has been dormant for 7 years is on its way to recovery!!!

Major Update #2

We spent a week in December in Park City, it was relaxing and a nice change of pace. Kirk still went back and forth to school and to work on the house but we still got in some nice R&R.

Double Trouble

Cooking Dinner in my new running clothes.....Merry Christmas to me!!!

To the Pool Please?

Finally!

Hurry Daddy!

Up, Up and Away....Livvy Loves this....
And Kirk lets her go under......

and she is still happy as ever when she emerges. And then, what does she do? but put her hands togetherto make the sign that means more. She is such a fish!

BINGO Family Dinner:
One of our favorite annual traditions is BINGO with the Newbold Fam. We cannot wait for this night in December.

Livvy even got in on the action:

But she was not too keen on Santa
Although she did enjoy the present he brought her....what a Ham! (Grandpa and Grandma Newbold)
Christmas Eve:
A great night with great food and a sweet "Nativity".

Nativity

Can I join?

Ready for Santa.....and bed. Livvy would not "stand" in front of the tree but she loves the new table and chairs from Grandma and Grandpa..... it works :)
Merry Christmas, from Kirk.....Running Gear

Merry Christmas, from Missy.....new coat
And, Hats all around

Christmas Morn:
Livvy was a little dazed to be waking up so early, but as soon as she saw all of her loot, she perked right up!
Open, now?!!!
Snuggles

Livvy spent most of the day doing this:

Opening Stockings......our favorite part of the morning (besides eating Christmas Cookies for breakfast) My mom always puts great stuff in our stockings, we cannot wait to see what they will hold.
Enjoying the "girls"
Still pushing her baby, even at Grandma and Grandpa's
